BIG SILVER UPDATE
SO
Been a few months. There's been a LOT of changes to Tathylia Chronicles, and I'll talk about a lot of them here today. Starting with the most important:
"Tathylia Chronicles: Justice and Peace" is Now being Split Into Two Games.
Or at least, that's the plan.
To be perfectly honest I've been contemplating cutting out the second campaign from TC, and moving it to a potential second project later on for a while now. ONE campaign is taking long enough, and my game needs to be MADE in order for it to be fun and fleshed out. I've always kind of favored Chris's campaign mentally anyway, as it really reminded me of what TC was based on; Path of Radiance. A story about a commoner fighting against the oppression that nobility dishes out. It has character that I think about more, and that I've worked on more.
Not to say that I don't love the other campaign's story and protagonist as much. I do! You admittedly haven't seen her yet, but I hope to eventually write her and her army in a satisfying way. I just feel like the best way to do that would be giving them their own game to breath.
At the moment, I have 16 out of a planned 23 maps made for Chris' campaign. Making the rest shouldn't be hard.
But making a single game with 46 chapters and twofully fleshed out stories in ONE project file? That sounds like it'll take...a lot of space. And time.
So for now my compromise is to split this one game into two (potential) games.
Tathylia Chronicles: Argent Moon
This is the current project we will be seeing here. It follow's the tale of a mercenary named Chris, whose father was giving a special mission and now asks Chris to act as their mercenary company's co-commander for the time being.
Tathylia Chronicles: Gilded Sun
THIS is the second game. It will follow the story of Princess April, who witnesses the injustices her society has inflicted on the people, and strives to change them, all the while her country is under attack from an invading force.
who knows there could be a THIRD game but
...uhh...nah that'd be torture actually.
So yeah. this project will be converted to "Tathylia Chronicles, Argent Moon" and focus entiely on Chris' storyline.
Which means nothing will change for you all... I guess.
Now time for the next section, which is:
Major Gameplay Changes!!!
WOO! YEAHH! THE OTHER IMPORTANT THINGY!
I've added many features, and fixed a few bugs, all of which will be in the next- and most likely FINAL major demo with 10 chapters(technically 11 if you count the gaiden chapter)
The demo will most likely be finished during this summer.
Here are some of the changes ,minus some obvious bug fixes and typo fixes/rewriting.
- Daggers are going to be a new weapon type. Daggers attack twice upon initiating combat and can attack at close or long range, but have lower might than every weapon.
- Rogues and their promotions use daggers instead of swords as their main weapon.
- Seraphs use divine magic and daggers now.
- There is a new generic enemy class known as the Drifter, which uses daggers.
- Further split up arcane mages into specific classes which gain buffs from using specific types of magic.
- Put physical weapons into more specific roles and gave them stats to fill those roles.
- Swords are precise and lightweight, leading to fast attacks and more crit. But they are weaker, and often more expensive.
- Lances have the highest accuracy of the melee weapons, and the most durability. But they are now the heaviest, requiring strong singular blows.
- Axes have the highest might and lowest cost, making them great on the offense. However, they have lower durability and accuracy.
- New promoted classes, and changes to existing promoted classes. Now each class (except the fliers and lords) gain an additional choice of classes upon promotion.
- Fighters can not promote into already existing Champion/Landsknecht class, which was the sole promoted class for Vagabonds.
- Silver and Golden Knights have had their skill changed to "Trample", which deals additional damage to enemies with full HP.
- Vagabonds can now promote to Adventurers. The Adventurer class is a fast mounted class that uses swords and lances. It comes with "Journey", which allows the user to pass through enemy occupied squares.
- The Cleric promotion of Templar now uses Lances instead of Axes now. They also gain the skill "Smite", allowing them to always initiate combat against demons, dragons, and dark magic.
- The Conjurer promotion of Harbinger now uses Axes instead of Lances now. They also have the skill "Bane" which damages multiple enemy units within range after they attack.
- Soldiers (now called Lancers) can now promote to Paragons. The Paragon class is a swift hybrid class that uses lances and divine magic, and comes with the skill "Heroism", which boosts the evasion of allies and weakens the evasion of enemies.
- Brigands(now called Bruisers) can now promote to Maelduins. The Maelduin class is resilient hybrid class, wielding axes and dark magic. It comes with the skill Ravage; a proc skill with the chance to lower a foes evasion and movement.
- Physicians can now promote to Paladins. The Paladin class wields swords and staves, and is more suited for physical combat. it comes with the skill "Abjuration", which provides a buff to an allies defenses when they heal.
- Guardians can now promote to Cataphracts. Cataphracts are a promoted class that can use the entire melee weapon triangle, and now have a mount, shedding their heaviest armor for mobility. They have the skill "Impetus," which decreases damage taken and increases accuracy when initiating combat.
- All units have had balance changes, mostly relating to their growth rates, as I felt they were a BIT too high.
- Two generic enemy classes (Soldier and Bowman) have been added.
- Divine, Elder, and Druidic magic have all received slight updates and reworks.
- Script and story rewrites are coming on the way, including a complete remake of Chapter 5:The Bastion.
- Probably a few other things I'm too tired to remember lol-
- And more!

I made a mistake with axes lol.
They have high might and cost nothing but have low accuracy durability. They're a strong, decent weapon that you can buy in bulk.
They can counterattack. I've edited it already but woopsie
